Maestro de MCS acusado de crimen sexual involucrando a un menor de edad

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) — Many parents at Ford Road Elementary School Friday did not even know about the charges against one of the faculty members there.

But 2nd grade teacher Timothy Sanders may never be back after Memphis Police said they caught him in a sexual situation with a 17 year-old boy.

“They’re held to a higher standard,” said parent Libra Pree.  “Because they supposed to be educating our children, not messing with them,” she added.

Police said officers on routine patrol around 1 a.m. Wednesday morning decided to look in the window of Sanders’ car when they saw it parked in a lot at Greenbelt Park on Mud Island.

Court records stated that both Sanders and the boy were “partially unclothed” and preparing to have sex.

“You could say yes,” said Major Loris Hopkins with Memphis Police.

Hopkins said Sanders exposed his privates and even wore a condom during the encounter.  However, he was caught just before having sex with the victim who is one year below the age of consent.

“His parents were contacted and they cooperated with the investigation,” said Hopkins.  “They wanted to press charges,” she added.

Police said Sanders met the victim on MySpace and initially agreed to be just friends.

“It is disturbing that he’s a teacher,” said Major Hopkins.  “Especially when his everyday activity is around minor children,” she added.

The school district took Sanders off the job without pay pending the outcome of the investigation.

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) — Este viernes, muchos padres de la Escuela Primaria Ford Road no sabían nada de los cargos en contra de uno de los miembros de la plantilla académica de esta escuela.

Pero el maestro de segundo grado, Timothy Sanders, puede que nunca vuelva a la escuela después de que la policía de Memphis dijo que lo atraparon en una situación sexual con un muchacho de 17 años.

“Ellos mantienen un estándar elevado”, dijo Libra Pree, una madre de familia. “Porque se supone que ellos están educando a nuestros hijos, no involucrándose con ellos”, agregó.

La policía dijo que unos oficiales en patrullaje de rutina alrededor de la 1:00 de la madrugada del miércoles decidieron mirar por la ventana del carro de Sanders que avistaron estacionado en el Parque Greenbelt sobre Mud Island.

Documentos de la Corte señalan que ambos, Sanders y el muchacho, estaban “parcialmente desvestidos” y se preparaban para tener sexo.

“Se puede decir que sí”, dijo Major Loris Hopkins de la policía de Memphis.

Hopkins dijo que Sanders mostraba sus partes privadas y que exhibía un condón colocado en el miembro durante el encuentro. De cualquier manera, fue atrapado antes de tener sexo con la víctima, quién se encuentra en una edad menor a la del consentimiento por un año.

“Sus padres fueron contactados y están cooperando con la investigación”, dijo Hopkins. “Quieren levantar cargos”, agregó Hopkins.

La policía dijo que Sanders encontró a la víctima en My Space e inicialmente acordaron hacerse sólo amigos.

“Es perturbador que él sea maestro”, dijo Major Hopkins. “Especialmente cuando su actividad diaria es estar con niños pequeños”, dijo.

El distrito escolar retiró a Sanders de su trabajo sin paga manteniéndose pendiente el resultado de la investigación.
