2 die in Russian missile attack on residential complex in Ukraine

Kyiv, Mar 2 (EFE).- At least two civilians were killed early Thursday in a Russian missile attack on an apartment building in the Ukrainian city of Zaporizhia, said officials.

Anatoly Kurtev, the acting mayor, said the five-story structure was “nearly completely destroyed.”

He stated that rescuers were looking for survivors beneath the rubble.

“According to preliminary information, two people died,” the mayor wrote on his Telegram account.

According to the State Emergency Service, two bodies were recovered from beneath the rubble.

The rescuers rescued 11 individuals, including a pregnant woman, who were taken to the hospital.

The emergency services said 90 people, including three psychologists, were involved in search and rescue operations.

Last night, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said frontline areas were subjected to daily Russian shelling.

“We are keeping each sector of the front under control. In addition to the directions of the front, attention is also paid to the frontline territories, to those cities and districts that are under Russia’s shelling every day and night, under deliberate terror.” EFE
