3 dead, 2 wounded in shooting in southern Germany

Berlin, July 29 (EFE) – Three people were killed and two were wounded in a shooting in southern Germany, police reported on Saturday.

The shooting took place late on Friday night in a residential building in Langweid, on the fringes of the Bavarian city of Augsburg, German media reported.

The alleged perpetrator, 64, was arrested after the incident and lived in the same building as the three victims, two women and a man aged 72, 49 and 52, police said in a statement.

According to the police, after fatally shooting the first three victims, the suspect ran to a house that was 500 meters away and shot a 32-year-old woman and a 44-year-old man, both of whom are in serious condition, although their lives were not in danger.

The alleged perpetrator was arrested shortly afterward in his vehicle without resistance and was carrying at least one firearm at the time.

Langweid am Lech is a town of some 7,500 inhabitants located in the southern region of Bavaria.EFE
