Benitez appointed as Everton manager

London, Jun 30 (EFE).- Rafael Benitez has become Everton’s new coach on a three-year contract, replacing Carlo Ancelotti who left for Real Madrid, the Premier League club announced on Wednesday.

The Spaniard — who became the fifth Toffees coach in the past five years — returns to the Premier League after his adventure with Newcastle United that came to an end in 2019.

“Rafa impressed us greatly with his knowledge and experience but, above all, the passion and hunger he showed to join our Club,” Everton’s Majority Shareholder, Farhad Moshiri said in a statement.

The former Real Madrid and Liverpool coach said “I believe this is a Club that is going places. I’m determined to play a big part in helping this great Club achieve its ambitions.” EFE
