MEMPHIS, TN (FOX13 / WREG / LPL) — Una anciana de Memphis está tras las rejas después de ser arrestada por introducir drogas a escondidas en una prisión, dijo la policía. Pero, ella dice que fue engañada.
De acuerdo con la declaración jurada de arresto, Sarah Griffin estaba trayendo una bolsa de Doritos para su nieto Cody Clements que está en la cárcel. Ella pensó que había un teléfono celular adentro, pero la policía dijo que era algo mucho más peligroso.
Uno de los oficiales pidió ver la bolsa de frituras. Clements sacó un pequeño objeto negro de la bolsa.
El oficial le quitó el objeto desconocido a Clements y notó que estaba envuelto en cinta aislante. Abrieron la bolsa y encontraron 28.5 gramos de metanfetamina, 11.4 gramos de marihuana, 40 pastillas de prescripción de Xanax, 1.7 gramos de éxtasis y 1.1 gramos de heroína.
Griffin le dijo a los agentes que ella no sabía que había drogas dentro de la bolsa. Dijo que recogió los Doritos de una chica a principios de la semana y pensó que había un teléfono celular adentro.
Sarah Griffin, de 68 años, está acusada de contrabando en una institución penal, entre otros.

MEMPHIS, TN (FOX13/WREG/LPL) — A Memphis Grandmother is behind bars after being arrested for sneaking drugs into a prison, police said. But, she claimed she was tricked.
According to the arrest affidavit, Sarah Griffin, was bringing a bag of Doritos to her grandson Cody Clements in jail. She thought a cellphone was inside, but police said it was something much more dangerous.
One of the officers asked to see the chip bag. Clements took a small black object out of the bag.
The officer took the unknown object from Clements and, noticed it was wrapped in electrical tape. They unrolled the bag and found 28.5 grams of methamphetamine, 11.4 grams of marijuana, 40 bars of prescription Xanax pills, 1.7 grams of Ecstasy and 1.1 grams of Heroin.
Griffin told deputies she did not know there were drugs inside the bag. Griffin said she picked the Doritos up from a girl earlier in the week and thought a cellphone was inside.
Griffin told officers she thought she was bringing in a cell phone and did not know it was drugs.
Sarah Griffin, 68, is charged with contraband in penal institution, among others.
