Actor Jamie Foxx hospitalized with ‘medical complication’

Los Angeles, US, Apr 12 (EFE).- Actor Jamie Foxx suffered a “medical complication” for which he was rushed to hospital on Tuesday, his family announced Wednesday.

“We wanted to share that, my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday. Luckily, thanks to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery,” Corinne Foxx, 29, said in an Instagram post.

It’s unclear what kind of medical issue Foxx suffered.

At 55 years old and having participated in over 80 productions throughout his career, Foxx is one of the most recognized faces in Hollywood.

“We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time,” she concluded in the short message.

Jamie and Corinne have worked together on a number of projects, including the Fox music game show “Beat Shazam,” in which the Oscar-winning actor serves as executive producer and host, while Corinne deejays.

The pair also worked together on the 2021 Netflix comedy series “Dad Stop Embarrassing Me,” in which they are both executive producers and Foxx starred.

In addition, the Netflix action comedy “Back in Action,” directed by Seth Gordon and in which Foxx stars with Cameron Diaz, Glenn Close and Kyle Chandler, is one of 11 projects he has in the works, according to IMDB.

Foxx won the best actor Oscar for “Ray” in 2004, as well as Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild, Bafta and Critics Choice awards for the film.

Among the most acclaimed films in which he has appeared are: “Miami Vice” (2005), “Valentine’s Day” (2009), “Django Unchained” (2012) and “Spider-Man: No Way Home” (2021). EFE
