Actor Julian Sands’ cause of death ‘undetermined’: Forensic experts

Los Angeles, United States, Jul 24 (EFE) – The San Bernardino County coroner’s office said Monday that British actor Julian Sands’ cause of death could not be determined.
The actor’s lifeless body was identified on June 27 in a desert in southern California, United States, after months of disappearance.
“The cause of death for Julian Sands was undetermined due to the condition of the body, and there were no other factors were discovered during the coroner’s investigation. This is common when dealing with cases of this type,” the coroners said in a statement.
They added that this was the “final resolution,” which comes four weeks after the discovery of his remains in the Mount Baldy desert after he disappeared in January.
The death of the actor, known for his appearance in films such as “Naked Lunch” and “A Room With a View,” was confirmed after hikers contacted the sheriff Saturday in the city of Fontana.
His body was transported to the coroner’s office pending identification and an official statement of his cause of death, which has taken longer than expected due to the impossibility of specifying the motives behind his death.
Sands disappeared on Jan. 13 after going on a solo hike in the Baldy Bowl area of the San Gabriel Mountains (about 50 miles northeast of Los Angeles.)
He was searched unsuccessfully by drones and helicopters, as avalanche risks at the time and dangerous trail conditions hindered the ground search for the actor.
Sands was born on Jan. 4, 1958 in Otley, United Kingdom and moved to California in the 1980s. His career has been marked by film and television titles such as “The Medallion,” “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,” “Smallville” and “The L Word.” EFE
