Air France flight searched following bomb threat

Paris, Jun 3 (EFE).- An Air France plane traveling to Paris from Chad was being searched by French security personnel Thursday at Paris’ Charles de Gaulle airport after an anonymous call was placed claiming there was a bomb on board the aircraft.

The airline said in a statement to Efe that the aircraft was escorted by a French Air Force fighter after the anonymous bomb threat had been received until it landed in Paris.

Flight AF865 landed safely at 16.04 local time (14.04 GMT). Its passengers disembarked and the aircraft was being inspected.

Interiro minister Gérald Darmanin announced hours later on his Twitter account that no explosives were found on board.

Air France specified that both pilots and cabin crew are trained to deal with this type of event and said that its “absolute priority” is the safety of both travelers and its employees.

The government said in a statement that a crisis cell has been set up at the request of Prime Minister Jean Castex. EFE
