BTS member V to release first solo album in September

Seoul, Aug 8 (EFE).- Singer V, member of the South Korean K-pop band BTS, will release his first solo studio album, “Layover,” on Sep. 8, making him the latest in the group to debut as a solo artist.

“V’s solo album ‘Layover’ will be released on Sep 8. Layover consists of six tracks in total – five tracks and a bonus track,” BTS’ agency BigHit Music announced on its website.

The six tracks in the album are “Slow Dancing,” “Rainy Days,” “Blue,” “Love Me Again,” “For Us,” and “Slow Dancing (piano version).”

Its title track, “Slow Dancing,” is expected to be a romantic soul style number, inspired by the 1970s decade.

All songs, except for the piano version, will have music videos, according to BigHit.

Other members of the band have also been working on their own projects.

J-Hope released his first solo album, “Jack in the box,” on July 15, 2022, making him the first to go solo after the famous boy band announced a temporary separation in June last year.

BTS, among the most popular K-Pop bands, announced their separation nine years after their musical debut, attributing it to exhaustion.

Besides working in their solo careers, some of the seven members of the popular ensemble – comprising RM, Jimin, Jin, V, Suga, J-Hope and Jungkook – are also undergoing compulsory military service.

South Korea has a minimum of 18 months of conscription. The group is expected to reunite in 2025.

Jin began military service in December last year, followed by J-Hope in April, while Suga’s enlistment was announced on Monday.

BTS has broken several records and won national and international awards that no South Korean pop group had achieved before.

It was also the first Asian band to become a global musical phenomenon. EFE
