Shooting Victim Found Dead Inside Car At Lamar Ave. Gas Station

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) — A man was discovered shot to death at a gas station on Lamar Avenue on Wednesday.
At 5:05 p.m., Memphis police say they responded to the Love’s truck stop at 3371 Lamar Avenue near I-240.
The victim was found dead inside a vehicle, police say.
“I just saw police cars pull up and heard it was member of the Love’s maybe, found out it wasn’t but someone is definitely deceased in that vehicle,” said driver Kennedy Upshaw.
“We need the public to step up, this did not happen in a vacuum,” said Memphis Police Public Information Officer Sgt. Louis Brownlee. “Somebody knows who did this.”
This was the third shooting reported to police Wednesday, the person or people responsible are still on the run.
“Investigators will comb over the evidence, comb over the videos,” said Sgt. Brownlee. “Check with the trucks that are here on scene.”
Upshaw says he plans to stop at Love’s on his trips to Memphis, but will keep a watchful eye when he does.
“Just got to be careful,” said Upshaw.
No arrests have been made.

Upshaw dice que planea pasar por la estación Love’s en sus viajes a Memphis, pero que estará atento cuando lo haga.
“Sólo hay que tener cuidado”, dijo Upshaw.
