TEXAS (AP) — Las autoridades dicen que identificaron a un hombre misterioso que fue visto en un video de vigilancia salvando a un bebé durante el tiroteo masivo del año pasado en un Walmart en Texas que mató a 22 personas. Y el héroe es de Memphis.
La policía de El Paso dice que ha confirmado que Lázaro Ponce es el hombre visto en las imágenes.
Ponce le dice a El Paso Times que él y su esposa no tenían hogar y vivían en un campamento improvisado cerca de Walmart en el momento del tiroteo.
Ponce le dijo al periódico que ayudó al bebé, a un hombre en silla de ruedas y a una anciana que había recibido un disparo.
Dice que ahora vive y trabaja en Memphis, Tennessee.

TEXAS (AP) — Authorities say they’ve identified a mystery man who was seen on surveillance video saving a baby during last year’s mass shooting at a Walmart in Texas that killed 22 people. And the hero is from Memphis.
El Paso police say they’ve confirmed that Lazaro Ponce is the man seen in the footage.
Ponce tells the El Paso Times that he and his wife were homeless and living at a makeshift camp near the Walmart at the time of the shooting.
Ponce told the newspaper that he helped the baby, a man in a wheelchair and an elderly woman who had been shot.
He says he’s now living and working in Memphis, Tennessee.
