Apple and family honor Steve Jobs’ life 10 years on

San Francisco, United States, Oct 5 (EFE).- The family and team of Apple co-founder and former CEO Steve Jobs honored him Tuesday with a text and a video on the 10th anniversary of his death.

“For a decade, mourning and healing have gone hand in hand. Our gratitude has become as great as our loss,” family members said in a statement on Apple’s website.

The letter was accompanied by a short video with images of the life of the creative force behind inventions such as the iPhone and iPad, and a visionary who prophesied the greatest technological changes of the early 21st century.

His death on Oct. 5, 2011 cancer complications, diagnosed eight years earlier, left hundreds of thousands of fans and followers worldwide shocked.

Jobs died just one day after his current successor Tim Cook – appointed in August that year – presented the company’s latest phone model, the iPhone 4S, the first iPhone presentation event without Apple’s co-founder.

Beyond co-founding the computer company in 1976 at his parents’ home in Los Altos, California, Jobs was Apple’s spiritual leader in both its original and second stages, facilitating products that play a crucial role in the lives of millions of people worldwide.

Like every outstanding inventor, Jobs was ahead of his time and outlined in his mind and in public statements new products that several decades later would become reality.

In a speech at the 1983 International Design Conference, when personal computers were uncommon in most homes, Jobs had said his idea was to “put in a book an incredibly powerful computer that can be carried wherever you go and can be learned to use in 20 minutes. ”

Twenty-four years later, the company he ran for the first time presented the iPhone and,the first iPad tablet three years later. EFE
