‘Aqueous,’ art, science, technology to dive into the blue in Miami

Miami, Nov 13 (efe-epa).- “Aqueous,” an experience created by the Artechouse group in which art, science and technology converge, invites the public of Miami to dive into blue, a color that transmits tranquility and peace.

Inspired by classic blue, the color of 2020 according to the Pantone paint brand, and in water as an element, “Aqueous” opens its doors to the public Saturday at the Artechouse headquarters in Miami Beach and will remain open Until Apr. 14.

In sessions of half an hour with a maximum of 25 people, all of them wearing a mask and keeping a safety distance of about 2 meters, “Aqueous” is an experience that allows the visitor to walk through a liquid and moving landscape in all the blues of the chromatic range.

There is also time to stop and contemplate on the walls of a large dark room movements, waves and reflections of large blue masses that sometimes resemble the sea and sometimes a pond into which someone has thrown a stone.

Concentric circles, foam that dissolves, the flow of a current, waves that invade spaces, falling waterfalls. Everything is movement and blue liquidity in “Aqueous.”

The public can interact with some of the works and see themselves portrayed in blue in many different ways.

Resident artists such as Aileen Quintana, known as Haiiileen, present multidisciplinary works in “Aqueous.”

Quintana, of Cuban origin, told EFE that she wanted to recreate in her space covered with crumpled metallic paper and with various luminous sculptures the effect of light in water, refraction from “an abstract point of view.”

During the tour, Artechouse staff told visitors how to interact with some of the works and how the movements of visitors or their body heat make the walls “dance.”

During the tour, references to COVID-19 and the suffering and difficulties it has created were made, as well as the properties of blue to calm and heal the spirit.

Artechouse, which defines itself as a creator of innovative artistic experiences, is going to present other experiences dedicated to blue in its centers in Washington and New York, but in this case referring to the air and the earth. EFE-EPA
