U2’s Bono, The Edge perform in Kyiv metro station

Madrid Desk, May 8 (EFE).- U2’s Bono and The Edge performed live at a Kyiv metro station after being invited to Ukraine by president Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the band announced Sunday.

Footage of the performance at the Khreschatyk metro station showed the pair from the Irish rock band performing on stage to a crowd.

Kyiv’s metro stations have been used as bomb shelters by the local population since Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24.

“President Zelenskyy invited us to perform in Kyiv as a show of solidarity with the Ukrainian people and so that’s what we’ve come to do,” the band tweeted.EFE
