Araujo extends Barça contract till 2026 with 1-billion-euro buyout clause

Barcelona, Apr 26 (EFE).- Ronald Araujo extended his Barcelona contract until June 2026 with a buyout clause of a billion euros, the Catalan club announced on Tuesday.

The Uruguayan defender, whose previous commitment expires in 2023, is set to sign his new contract on Friday at the Camp Nou.

The 23-year-old, who joined the LaLiga powerhouse in 2018 on a transfer from Boston River for 5.2 million euros, made his Barcelona debut in October 2019.

He has since played 78 games, having secured himself a spot in the starting lineup under both Ronald Koeman and his replacement Xavi Hernandez. EFE
