Aston Villa’s players banned from using Fantasy Premier League

London, Feb 23 (efe-epa).- Aston Villa has banned their players from participating in the Fantasy Premier League after Jack Grealish’s injury was leaked as teammates removed him from their squads, British media reported.

The virtual competition, with over 7 million participants in England, allows users to build a squad that earns them points in accordance with their performance in real life.

Grealish missed his team’s 2-1 home defeat to Leicester City this weekend, but his injury was leaked when several Aston Villa players swapped the midfielder out of their Fantasy teams before it was official.

This is not the first incident of its kind. A Norway-based Twitter bot alerts followers every time a Premier League player introduces a change into his Fantasy squad, which allows users to know who will be on the sidelines.

Earlier this month, Liverpool’s Andy Robertson sold teammate Sadio Mane days before the Senegalese player missed a game against Brighton, while several Leicester City’s players transferred Jamie Vardy who then missed four games due to injury.
