At least 288 children killed in Ukraine, over 527 wounded amid war

Kyiv, Jun 13 (EFE).- Some 288 children have been killed and more than 527 wounded in Ukraine since the Russian invasion of the country began in late February, the Ukrinform news agency reported Monday.

“As of June 13, 2022, more than 815 children in Ukraine were affected by the Russian armed aggression. A total of 288 children were killed and more than 527 injured, according to data from the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office,” Ukraine’s Prosecutor General’s Office said in a Telegram post.

Of the casualties, 218 were recorded in the Donetsk region, 166 in Kharkiv, 116 in Kyiv, 68 in Chernihiv, 54 in Luhansk, 52 in Kherson, 48 in Mykolaiv, 30 in Zaporizhzhia and 17 in Sumy.

Russian strikes have also damaged 1,971 educational institutions, 194 of them were completely destroyed, according to the post.
