At least 4 injured after explosion in busy central Tokyo district

Tokyo, Jul 3 (EFE).- At least four people were injured Monday after an explosion in a building in the central Tokyo district of Shimbashi in Tokyo, home to numerous offices and restaurants, as police were investigating the causes.
Police received an emergency call at about 3:15pm local time (6:15 GMT), reporting smoke coming from a building and the sound of an explosion, which caused a fire on the first floor of the affected building, which firefighters continued battling to reach the interior.
All injuries so far are minor, according to data published by the local public broadcaster NHK.
Security forces said the explosion could have originated in a restaurant in the building.
The incident was a trend on social media in Japan, where numerous videos recorded by witnesses and bystanders who stopped to record the scene were hastily shared.
On the surrounding cordoned roads, pieces of glass and apparent office supplies were scattered along the road.
The damaged building is about 300 meters from Shimbashi station, one of the financial centers of the capital, home to numerous bars and restaurants. EFE
