At least 5 killed as Russia strikes Odesa residential building

Kyiv, Apr 23 (EFE).- Russian missile strikes hit a residential building in the Ukrainian city of Odesa on Saturday, killing at least five people, a presidential spokesman said.

At least 18 others were reported injured in the strike on the city located on Ukraine’s Black Sea coast, Andriy Yermak, spokesman for the office of president Voloydymr Zelenskyy said in a statement shared on Telegram.

Among the dead was a three month old baby, Yermak added in the statement.

He said the missiles had been launched from the Caspian Sea.

Ukraine’s defense minister Dmytro Kuleba said Russia’s strike on Odesa was aimed at spreading “terror.”

“Russia must be designated a state sponsor of terrorism and treated accordingly,” he added in a statement shared on social media. EFE
