More than 4,200 civilians killed in Ukraine, UN says

Geneva, Jun 7 (EFE).- At least 4,253 civilians have died and 5,141 have been injured since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24, according to a United Nations report published Tuesday.

Among the fatalities were 272 children, while about 10% of the wounded were minors, the UN Human Rights Office (OHCHR) said.

Most of the victims were killed or wounded amid shelling, heavy artillery, or missile attacks, it added.

The UN said these figures might be much higher, given the lack of access to several areas mired in intense fighting such as Mariupol, Izyum, Popasna.EFE
