At least one dead in explosion near Kabul airport

Kabul, Aug 29 (EFE).- At least one person died Sunday after an explosion was heard near Kabul’s airport as international forces carried out the final stage of evacuations, according to official sources.

The victim was a child, police reported.

The blast, which comes three days after scores of people were killed in a terrorist attack claimed by an affiliate of the Islamic State group, hit a house in the Khawaja Bughra area in Kabul.

No further details about the causes of the explosion have been released yet. EFE
