Audiciones en el Orpheum para el papel de la niña “Lulu” en el musical de “Waitress”

Auditions at the Orpheum for the Role of “Lulu,” the Little Girl in “Waitress”

MEMPHIS, TN (LPL/The Orpheum Theatre) — “Waitress”, el musical nominado a los premios Tony, se estará presentando en el Teatro Orpheum del 15 al 20 de enero del 2019 y está buscando a dos niñas para que interpreten el papel de “Lulu” en la ciudad de Memphis.

“Waitress” cuenta la historia de “Jenna”, una joven mujer experta en pasteles que trabaja en un restaurante local como mesera y cuyo matrimonio va de mal en peor por la carencia de amor. Su hija “Lulu” será su salvación.

“Lulu” es un personaje dulce y despreocupado que aparece al final de la producción. Las niñas que califiquen para participar en el musical deben medir menos de 4’2 pies de estatura y tener entre 4 y 5 años de edad (no pueden tener más de 5 años y 3 meses en el momento de la audición). Cada sesión durará aproximadamente dos horas en el Halloran Centre for Performing Arts and Education (ubicado al lado del Orpheum Theatre). La audición consistirá en que la niña lea dos líneas del show, haga una breve entrevista y corra y salte a los brazos de una persona que la abrazará y cargará. MEMPHIS, TN (The Orpheum Theatre) — “Waitress,” the Tony nominated musical will be premiering at the Orpheum Theatre January 15-20, 2019 and is looking for two young girls to perform the role of “Lulu” for the duration of the engagement.

“Waitress” tells the story of “Jenna”, an expert pie baker working at a local diner and stuck in a loveless marriage. Her salvation comes in the form of her daughter, “Lulu.”

The character of “Lulu” is a sweet and carefree character who appears in the production’s finale. Qualified young girls should be shorter than 4’2 and be at least 4 years old but no older than 5 years and 3 months at the time of audition. Individual applicants are welcome, as are sets of twins or siblings. Space is limited to the first sixty (60) applicants to sign up at https://orpheum-memphis.com/event/waitress-2019. Applicants can sign up for one of two audition sessions:

• Noon to 2 p.m. on Friday, November 2, 2018
• 3-5 p.m. on Friday, November 2, 2018

Each session will last approximately two hours at the Halloran Centre for Performing Arts & Education (adjacent to the Orpheum Theatre). The audition will consist of the child reading two lines from the show, a brief interview, and running and jumping into a person’s arms who will hug/pick them up. If possible, parents should bring a current head shot and résumé for each child. Headshot, résumé and prior acting experience is not required.

Each girl chosen will perform in four performances each during the one-week engagement.
