Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline restarts Russian gas delivery to Germany
Berlin, Jul 21 (EFE).- The Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline from Russia to Germany reopened Thursday after 10 days of scheduled maintenance work, according to flow data provided by the operator.
The pipeline was running at approximately 30 percent of the maximum capacity, according to Klaus Müller, president of the Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur) regulatory office, on Twitter.
Supply data from Nord Stream indicates that gas started flowing from 6 am local time (04:00 GMT).
Müller said that the percentage of gas forecast for Thursday through Nord Stream 1 is about 530 GWh/d, which is equivalent to approximately 30 percent capacity of the pipeline, which directly links Russia with Europe and enters Germany through the Baltic coast.
The 30 percent “is binding for the next 2 hours, changes during the day would be very unusual,” Müller added.
The supply was cut off to Germany on July 10 for scheduled maintenance tasks, although the German authorities expressed concern in recent days about whether the stoppage would be prolonged.
On Wednesday the German government reported that it had reduced its dependence on Russian gas imports from 55 percent in February to the current 26 percent. EFE
