Australia, Colombia, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, Thailand: Miss Universe 2023 finalists

San Salvador, Nov 18 (EFE).- The representatives of Australia, Puerto Rico, Nicaragua, Thailand and Colombia moved on to the final of Miss Universe 2023 on Saturday.

The Miss Universe 2023 contest, held in San Salvador, will culminate this Saturday night with the election of the successor to the American R’Bonney Gabriel, Miss Universe 2022.

These five candidates came from a preliminary group of 20 semifinalists, among which were entrants from South Africa, the Philippines, Peru, Venezuela, India, El Salvador, the United States, Bolivia, Chile, Jamaica, Nepal, Cameroon, Pakistan, Portugal and Spain.

The top five in the running to be the 72nd Miss Universe were selected based on the scores obtained during evening gown and swimsuit sections at the José Adolfo Pineda National Gymnasium.

The parade in gala dress was accompanied by a performance by American singer John Legend.

The jury, which included the model and Miss Paraguay 2021 Nadia Ferreira; American actress Giselle Blondet Blondet; French model and beauty queen Iris Mittenaere, who was crowned Miss Universe 2016; and the first Miss Trinidad and Tobago crowned Miss Universe in 1977, Janelle Commissiong evaluated the finalists and will shortly ask them a question session.
