Several injured in Paris station knife attack, suspect detained

Paris, Jan 11 (EFE).- Several people were injured in a knife attack at the Gare du Nord train station in Paris, authorities said Wednesday.

Interior minister Gérald Darmanin said in a tweet that the suspect was swiftly “neutralized” by police.

A police source told news outlet FranceInfo that an officer opened fire on the suspect, who was then detained. The attack took place at around 6.40am.

Trains were running as normal from the station following the attack.

Gare du Nord serves as a major transport hub connecting Paris to cities like Brussels, Amsterdam and London. EFE
