North Korea launches cruise missiles into Yellow Sea

Seoul, Jan 24 (EFE).- North Korea launched several cruise missiles into the waters of the Yellow Sea on Wednesday, the South Korean military reported.

It came a few days after Pyongyang revealed that it had tested an underwater drone with nuclear capability.

Wednesday’s launch took place around 7 am local time (22:00 GMT Tuesday), the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS), which is currently analyzing the details, said according to the local news agency Yonhap.

“While strengthening our monitoring and vigilance, our military has been closely coordinating with the United States to monitor additional signs of North Korea’s provocations,” the JCS said in a statement sent to reporters.

This is Pyongyang’s first cruise missile launch since September. EFE
