Bale to wait until after Euros to speak to ‘great guy’ Ancelotti

Dublin, Jun 4 (EFE).- Gareth Bale said Friday that he will wait until after the upcoming Euro 2020 championships to speak with Real Madrid’s new manager Carlo Ancelotti, whom he described as a “great manager”.

Bale played under Ancelotti during the Italian’s first period in charge at the Bernabeu, when Real Madrid won their 10th ever Champions League title.

He spent last season on loan at Tottenham Hotspur, having fallen out of favor under former Real coach Zinedine Zidane, who resigned last week.

“He’s a great manager, a great guy, and we had a great time together at Real Madrid,” Bale told Sky News.

“I get on really well with him, I’m not denying that, but I’m really just concentrating on now. I imagine I’ll have a conversation with him at some point and we’ll go from there.”

Bale is still under contract at Madrid until June 2022. Ancelotti, who rejoined Real on Tuesday, has said that he expects Bale to return.

“Bale did not play much in the Premier League, but he did score a lot of goals,” Ancelotti said.

“He is coming back, I know him well and if he is motivated he can have a great season.”

Reports in the British media suggest the Italian’s return to the Bernabeu increases the chances of Bale seeing out his final year of his contract.

Bale, 31,  said three weeks ago after the last league game with Spurs that he would only discuss his future after the Euros.
