Barcelona, Dec 31 (EFE).- A goal by Marcos Alonso for Barcelona in the 7th minute was canceled out by a Joselu penalty in the 73rd minute for Espanyol as the Barcelona derby ended in a 1-1 draw Saturday.
The game also saw two dismissals for double yellow cards, Jordi Alba in the 77th minute and Vini de Souza in the 80th.
Alonso gave the home side the lead with a close-range header after a headed assist from Andreas Christensen.
Joselu leveled the score when he converted a penalty in the 73rd minute into a goal by deceiving Marc-André Ter Stegen.
The draw means Barcelona missed the chance to maintain a three point lead at the top of La Liga after Real won on Friday night. EFE
