Bayern’s Müller tests positive for Covid-19, will miss Club World Cup final

Qatar, Feb 11 (efe-epa).- FC Bayern München player Thomas Müller has tested positive for Covid-19 and will subsequently miss Thursday evening’s Club World Cup final against Tigres UANL in Qatar, FIFA confirmed.

Müller has no symptoms and is doing well, German media reported.

The midfielder is considered one of Bayern’s key players and this season has played 28 of 29 official games, in which he has scored 12 goals and provided 16 assists.

He is also considered head coach Hansi Flick’s voice on the pitch, constantly giving instructions to his teammates and leading his team’s pressure to recover the ball.

The main candidates to replace Müller today are Jamal Musiala, Corentin Tolisso and Leroy Sané. EFE-EPA
