Ancelotti says he will retire after Real Madrid job

Madrid, May 7 (EFE).- Carlo Ancelotti on Saturday said he would retire after his second spell as Real Madrid coach, which he hopes to be lengthy.

The 62-year-old took the helm of Real Madrid for a second term at the beginning of the season — having led the Merengue between 2013 and 2015 — to steer the club to secure LaLiga for the first time as a manager.

Thus, the Italian became the first coach to win trophies in Europe’s Europe’s top five leagues. Real Madrid have also reached the Champions League final.

“If everything goes well, I would stay at Real Madrid until I’m 80, why not? Until I go completely insane,” Ancelotti said at a press conference on the eve of their LaLiga game against Atletico Madrid.

“My idea is that the day I stop with Real Madrid I will stop coaching. I have enjoyed it a lot and looking for a better team in world football is going to be complicated.

“The day Real Madrid gets tired (of me) I can think about stopping, I have no problem I have a lot of things to do later,” he said. EFE
