Blackpink sets YouTube record for most K-pop video views

Seoul, Jul 3 (EFE).- The popular South Korean band Blackpink on Sunday set a YouTube record for most views for a video by a K-pop group for its single “Ddu-du Ddu-du.”

The video, which was published on July 15, 2018, exceeded 1.9 billion views after 4 am local time Sunday (19:00 GMT Saturday), its record label and management agency YG Entertainment announced in a statement.

“Ddu-du Ddu-du,” the lead track of the mini album “Square Up,” was the most viewed K-pop music video clip in 2018 and surpassed the 1 billion views mark in November 2019.

The song reached number 55 on the Billboard Hot 100 list, which was the highest-charting position for an all-girl band of the genre.

Blackpink has published 32 videos with at least 100 million views on the platform, and has a cumulative total of 24.1 billion views of their videos. EFE
