Bob Saget died of head trauma, family says

Los Angeles, USA, Feb 10 (EFE).- American actor Bob Saget, famous for his role in sitcom “Full House,” died as a result of head trauma, his family said.

Saget, 65, was found dead in his Orlando, Florida, hotel room last month while he was on his comedy tour.

“The authorities have determined that Bob passed from head trauma. They have concluded that he accidentally hit the back of his head on something, thought nothing of it and went to sleep,” the family said in a statement.

“No drugs or alcohol were involved,” said the note, adding that the family has felt “overwhelmed with the incredible outpouring of love” from the actor’s fans, “which has been a great comfort to us and for which we are eternally grateful.”

“As we continue to mourn together, we ask everyone to remember the love and laughter that Bob brought to this world, and the lessons he taught us all: to be kind to everyone, to let the people you love know that you love them, and to face difficult times with hugs and laughter,” it concluded.

After the preliminary investigations into Saget’s death, the county sheriff’s office said that there were no signs of foul play or drug use.

Saget had performed the previous night at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall in Jacksonville, Florida, as part of his stand-up tour.

After the show, the actor posted a message on his social media accounts with a photo of himself in which he wrote that he “loved tonight’s show.”

“I had no idea I did a two hour set tonight. I’m back in comedy like I was when I was 26. I guess I’m finding my new voice and loving every moment of it,” he wrote.

With a long career dedicated to comedy, Saget found fame in his role as widowed father Danny Tanner in “Full House” in the late 1980s, then as host of America’s Funniest Home Videos, and most recently in sitcom spinoff “Fuller House.” EFE
