The Cessna Caravan airplane was dedicated at the FedEx St. Jude Classic Golf Tournament.

This is the first time FedEx has dedicated a plane to a patient with sickle cell disease.

“I don’t know if she knew how big a deal it was until she actually experienced this. So we’re very grateful and thankful for it,” said Mya’s mother Ebony Rounds. “I thank St. Jude so much, that’s what’s keeping Mya going. Everyday. I’m so grateful for them.”

The dedication is part of the Purple Eagle program. This is the 7th year a current St. Jude patient, who is also the child or grandchild of a FedEx team member, has been honored.
