Aubameyang joins FC Barcelona on free transfer from Arsenal

Barcelona, Feb 2 (EFE).- FC Barcelona announced on Wednesday it had reached an agreement with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on a free transfer from Arsenal FC.

The Gabon striker will sign a three and a half year contract until 2025, with an option to depart two years before the end of the contract and a buy out clause of 100 million euros.

The 32-year old left Arsenal by mutual agreement after joining the club in 2018, where he was captain for the last two and a half seasons and scored 92 goals in all competitions.

“We wish Auba all the best for the next chapter in his career and thank him for his contribution to the club,” Arsenal FC said in a statement.

Born in France, Aubameyang has triple nationality: French, Spanish and Gabonese but plays internationally for Gabon.

Before joining Arsenal he played for Borussia Dortmund for four and a half years where he scored 141 goals and earned his reputation as one of the best finishers on the continent. EFE
