Officials call off search for missing 85-year-old Memphis woman

“Ayúdanos a encontrarla”.

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) — Shelby County Sheriff’s deputies are calling off the search for an 85-year-old woman who went missing Monday morning.

Deputies say Pandora Duckett, who has Alzheimer’s, walked away from her home on the 4300 block of Rosswood Drive Monday morning.

Officials spent 31 hours searching for Duckett before calling off the search.

Shelby County Sheriff’s deputies will continue to investigate tip information. If you see Pandora Duckett, please dial 911 immediately.

Duckett was last seen wearing a gray jacket and gray pants.

She stands 5-feet-5 inches tall and weighs around 110 pounds. She was last seen at a Valero station on New Allen Road and Raleigh-Millington yesterday morning.

Deputies said a woman spotted Duckett and offered her a ride to the gas station. She went inside, but didn’t end up buying anything.

Police said she tried to pay for a drink and a snack with a house key, before the clerk said she could not do that.

When she came outside, the woman offered to take her home, which she did. She then drove away, but said something didn’t feel right, so she went back to her home and couldn’t find her.

After an entire day of searching, Shelby County Sheriff’s deputies re-grouped, spreading their search out even farther.

“We just moved into a new neighborhood she had been staying for 20 years,” said son Kirk Duckett. “She really don’t know anyone around in this area, really shocking to know that your Mom is missing like that.”

“Temperatures are expected to drop to around 20 degrees and rain is moving in so we are doing everything we can right now to try to bring Ms. Duckett reunite her with her family,” said SCSO Lieutenant Anthony Buckner.

The family made this plea to anyone out there.

“Just help us to find our mother and grandmother,” said daughter Patricia Duckett. “Help us find her.”
