“I Am Included” Program Aims to Help Hearing-Impaired Students
MEMPHIS, TN (LPL/localmemphis.com) — Las personas sordas y con pérdida de audición tienen el mismo potencial para cambiar y mejorar la comunidad de Memphis. Ese fue el mensaje del miércoles de la Oficina de Servicios Juveniles de Memphis.
Ahora está lanzando un programa llamado “Estoy incluido”. El propósito es que los estudiantes con discapacidades obtengan herramientas para tener éxito.
El programa se dirige a los estudiantes desde el 8º grado hasta el 12º grado. Los organizadores dicen que tienen como objetivo que todos los niños experimenten las mismas oportunidades, a pesar de su situación.
Los padres dicen que este programa cambiará vidas y les permitirá ser defensores de sus hijos.

It is now launching a program called “I Am Included.” The purpose is to create an avenue for the students with the disability to gain tools to succeed.
The program targets students in 8th grade through 12th grade. Organizers say they aim for all children to experience the same opportunities, despite their situation.
Parents say this program will change lives and will allow them to be advocates for their children.
“This would give them the skills necessary to be able to compete with the children and adults that does not have a disability. It could be an even play game to give them the resources necessary to be successful,” said mother Tequilla Brownlee Woodbine.
This is the first phase of “I Am Included” program, which is set to start in August.
