Sanctions against Russia tougher than those in Cold War era, PM says

Moscow, Apr 7 (EFE).- Western sanctions imposed on Russia in retaliation for the invasion of Ukraine are even tougher than those during the Cold War era, Russian prime minister, Mikhail Mishustin, said Thursday.

“The current situation can literally be called the most challenging in three decades of Russia’s history,” Mishustin said, according to state news agency TASS.

“Those trying to isolate and squeeze us out of the global economy today will not succeed,” he added, noting the Eurasian country “is integrated into global processes.”

The premier also pointed out that Russia’s economy would need at least six months to restructure and adapt to sanctions.

The sanctions have targeted every single citizen and are aimed to cause panic in Russia, he explained.

According to Mishustin, over 6,000 different sanctions have been imposed on Russia.EFE
