MEMPHIS, TN (LPL) — El Teatro Orpheum estará presentando nuevamente la Serie de Conciertos de Harry Potter, esta vez con la segunda película de la famosa saga, “Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets”. El próximo concierto, producido por CineConcerts -en sociedad con Warner Bros. Consumer Products- será realizado con la colaboración de la Orquesta Sinfónica de Memphis el sábado, 30 de noviembre del 2019, a las 8 PM; la película será proyectada en una pantalla gigante de alta definición.

LPL: ¿A quién se le ocurrió la idea de hacer una serie de conciertos con las películas de Harry Potter?
Justin Freer: La Serie de Conciertos de Harry Potter fue una colaboración entre mi persona y Brady Beaubien, mi coproductor y socio de negocios. Los dos lanzamos CineConcerts en el 2013 con “Gladiator”, como nuestra primera producción, y poco después tuvimos la oportunidad de asociarnos con Warner Bros. Consumer Products para producir “Harry Potter in Concert”. LPL: ¿Cómo es el proceso de combinar la película con la presentación en vivo de una orquesta sinfónica y cuánto tiempo se tarda en obtener el resultado final?
Justin Freer: Hacer los arreglos de una partitura para un concierto en vivo es un desafío tanto interesante como emocionante, y hemos perfeccionado ese proceso a lo largo de los años. Una vez que tenemos todo listo, en lo que respecta a la gira, ensayamos con la orquesta local por un total de cinco horas, aproximadamente. LPL: ¿Qué tipo de respuesta ha tenido este show en todo el país?
Justin Freer: Estamos completamente emocionados con el éxito de la gira, que incluirá más de 900 presentaciones en más de 48 países antes de que finalice el 2019. MEMPHIS, TN (LPL) — Once again, the Orpheum Theatre will be presenting the Harry Potter Concert Series, featuring this time the second film of the famous saga, “Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets.” The next concert, produced by CineConcerts – in partnership with Warner Bros. In “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets,” cars fly, trees fight back, and a mysterious house-elf comes to warn Harry Potter at the start of his second year at Hogwarts. Adventure and danger await when bloody writing on a wall announces that the Chamber of Secrets has been opened. Harry, Ron and Hermione will have to be very brave and use their magical abilities to save Hogwarts.

To learn more about the Harry Potter Film Concert Series, La Prensa Latina had an exclusive interview with Justin Freer, President of CineConcerts. Here are his answers:
LPL: Who came up with the idea of the Harry Potter Film Concert Series?
Justin Freer: The Harry Potter Film Concert Series was a collaboration between me and Brady Beaubien, my co-producer and business partner. The two of us launched CineConcerts back in 2013 with “Gladiator,” and soon after that we were given the opportunity to partner with Warner Bros. Consumer Products on “Harry Potter in Concert.” The Harry Potter film series is such an iconic cultural phenomenon, with millions of fans all over the world – so we thought it was the perfect opportunity for a live musical experience, which allows those fans to experience the films in an entirely new way. I’ve always loved the music from the films, and I hope that by putting the music on stage, the visceral impact will surround and inspire the fans.
LPL: How is the process of combining the movie with the live performance of a symphony orchestra and how long does it take to have a final result?
Justin Freer: It’s an interesting and exciting challenge to arrange the score for a live performance, and we’ve perfected that process over the years. Once we have the arrangement, as far as the tour goes, we usually have about five hours total with the local orchestra, split across two rehearsals. But every orchestra has a different sound, and every hall is different. It’s a constantly evolving set of variables!
LPL: What kind of response has the show gotten nationwide?
Justin Freer: We are completely thrilled with the success of the tour, which will include over 900 performances across more than 48 countries worldwide throughout 2019. We’ve brought this show to more than 1.3 million fans, and the enthusiasm has been incredible. At the end of the day, if we can cultivate one more fan of live music, or of film, or of the Harry Potter series, we’ve succeeded as entertainers, and that’s incredibly rewarding.
LPL: What can the audience expect from the show (“Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets in Concert”) here in Memphis?
Justin Freer: If you’re new to film concerts, get ready for a one-of-a-kind experience that allows to you relive your favorite moments with a whole new dimension added – the live music component. If you saw “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in Concert” in Memphis, you know what you’re in for, and you’re coming back, which we appreciate! We always encourage the fans in attendance to cheer for their favorite characters, recite their favorite lines, boo for the villains, and generally get engaged and show their House pride. Our goal is really for the music to heighten the emotional resonance of the films, and so we hope by presenting the music live, we can elevate each and every moment in these characters’ stories.
LPL: Can you tell us more about CineConcerts?
Justin Freer: CineConcerts was founded with a mission to preserve and protect film music – including some of the most brilliant scores by composers like John Williams, Hans Zimmer and Jerry Goldsmith – and to that end, we hope to show audiences around the world just how powerful and timeless the concert experience really is.
