Barcelona, Spain, Jul 7 (EFE).- Danish center-back Andreas Christensen was officially presented as FC Barcelona’s latest signing on Thursday after signing a four-year contract with the club.
During the ceremony at Barcelona’s training ground, the former Chelsea player said he was a good fit for Barça and its style of play.
“I think I am here because of the player that I have become and as a person and I think that fits already well to Barcelona’s style of play and I think that is why I am here,” the 26-year-old said.
“I don’t have to change anything – obviously I have to get better, learn everyday, but I think my style of play fits quite well already,” he added.
Christensen said he was proud of his time at Chelsea despite the sour ending with the English club after coach Thomas Tuchel accused him of pulling out of games at the last minute.
“I try to go in everyday and do my job, for me it is in the past now, it was obviously difficult the last few weeks, it was not the way I hoped it would have ended, but I am more than proud of being part of Chelsea for more than 10 years,” Christensen said.
The player said joining the Catalan club had been his dream since he was eight and that he was looking forward to meeting his new teammates.
“I haven’t met the players yet here, I heard it is a good group, we have great players, and I am looking forward to playing with the team.” EFE
