Cientos de estudiantes voluntarios llegarán a Memphis
Hundreds of Student Volunteers Will Arrive in Memphis
MEMPHIS, TN (Localmemphis.com/LPL) — En las próximas semanas, más de 500 estudiantes universitarios de todo el país vendrán a nuestra ciudad con el objetivo de ayudar a los demás.
Serve901 es un programa alternativo de vacaciones de primavera en el que los estudiantes pasan la semana como voluntarios en organizaciones sin fines de lucro del área y aprenden sobre la ciudad de Memphis.
El programa comenzó esta semana con dos grupos de la Universidad de Michigan.
“La gente de aquí simplemente se enorgullece de su tradición y de lo que están haciendo en la ciudad y la comunidad”, dice Albert Cai, un estudiante de segundo año de la Universidad de Michigan. “Creo que es algo que no solo es único aquí, sino que es algo que prevalece aquí”.
Las visitas de esta semana también incluyen el Museo Nacional de Derechos Civiles y el Hospital de Investigación Infantil St. Jude.
En total, 23 escuelas de 16 estados participarán en Serve901 este año.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) — Over the coming weeks, more than 500 college students from all over the country will be coming to the Bluff City with the goal of helping others.
Serve901 is an alternative spring break program where students spend the week volunteering for area non-profits and learning about the city of Memphis.
The program kicked off this week with two groups from the University of Michigan.
“The people here just have a lot of pride in their tradition and what they’re doing in the city and community,” says Albert Cai, a sophomore at the University of Michigan. “I think that’s something that isn’t just unique to here, but it’s something that’s really prevalent here.”
Stops this week also include the National Civil Rights Museum and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
In total, 23 schools from 16 states will take part in Serve901 this year.
