City of Memphis Hosts Manhood University For Those Looking For A Second Chance At Life
MEMPHIS, TN (Localmemphis.com/LPL) — La ciudad de Memphis comenzó una nueva sesión de la Universidad de Virilidad, un programa que enseña a los hombres cómo llevar una vida productiva.
Decenas de hombres vinieron a la Iglesia Bautista de New Sardis en el sureste de Memphis para comenzar el programa de 6 semanas.
“Lo que queremos hacer es volver a poner a estos jóvenes en el camino hacia donde iban antes de que se enfrenten a la ley, como dijiste cualquier cosa que ayude a que la ciudad crezca es positiva para Memphis y el condado de Shelby”, dijo el voluntario León Gris.
La Universidad de Virilidad reúne a la comunidad de la ciudad y de la fe para enseñarles a los hombres sobre el establecimiento de objetivos, la resolución de conflictos, la educación financiera y cómo conseguir un trabajo. Les ofrece a los hombres otra oportunidad de encontrar el éxito.
“¿Por qué estoy aquí? Porque cometí algunos errores en mi vida y necesito otra oportunidad y no mucha gente está dando una segunda oportunidad para convertirse en el hombre que Dios creó para nosotros, y este hombre del programa, ya he sido motivado esta semana, “Dijo el participante Avery Hillard.
Gray agregó que quieren que los participantes aprendan a olvidar su pasado y se centren en un futuro mejor.

MEMPHIS, TN (Localmemphis.com) — The City of Memphis began a new session of Manhood University, a program that teaches men how to lead productive lives.
Dozens of men came out to New Sardis Baptist Church in Southeast Memphis to start the 6-week program.
“What we want to do is get these young men back on the path to where they were going before they ran afoul of the law, like you said anything that helps the city grow is a positive for Memphis and Shelby County,” said volunteer Leon Gray.
Manhood University brings the city and faith community together to teach men about setting goals, conflict resolution, financial literacy, and landing a job. It offers men another chance to find success.
“Why am I here? Because I’ve made some mistakes in my life and I need another opportunity and not a lot of people are giving second chances to become the man that God created us to be, and this program man, I’ve already been motivated this week,” said participant Avery Hillard.
Gray added they want participants to learn how to put their past behind them and focus on a better future.
