Versailles, France, Mar 10 (EFE).- The president of the European Commission on Thursday said the bloc wanted to see a “free and democratic” Ukraine as she arrived at an informal meeting of European leaders in Versailles.
“We want a free and democratic Ukraine with whom we share a common destiny,” the head of the Commission said ahead of the two day meeting, where heads of state and government will discuss the Russian invasion of its smaller neighbor.
Participants will discuss how to wean Europe off its dependency on Russian energy and “rethink” its defense strategies.
“We have to get rid of the dependency on Russian fossil fuels,” she added. EFE
