Frieze returns to London after Covid hiatus

London, Oct 13 (EFE).- The Frieze London contemporary art fair, which showcases physical exhibitions and performances, opened on Wednesday in central London’s Regents Park, after being cancelled last year due to the pandemic.

The art fair features over 160 galleries from 35 countries with many renowned artists including Paula Rego (Portugal), Yinka Shonibare (UK), Georg Baselitz (Germany), Do Ho Suh (S. Korea), Julie Mehretu (US).

The aim is to make art accessible for as many people as possible and offer the public the chance to buy art at the best price.

Every year, the fair attracts over 60,000 people, including gallery owners, collectors, critics and the public.

The Frieze, which was founded in 1991 by Amanda Sharp, Matthew Slotover and Tom Gidley, is also held in cities such as New York and Los Angeles. EFE
