Uber Eats Driver Carjacked Making Delivery in Memphis

MEMPHIS, TN (LPL/FOX 13) — La policía de Memphis está pidiendo la ayuda del público para encontrar a dos hombres que, según dicen, robaron a un conductor de reparto Uber y robaron su automóvil.

Ese conductor en cuestión le dijo al noticiario FOX13 que tiene suerte de estar vivo.

Ryan McDaniel estaba haciendo entregas Uber Eats cuando salió de su automóvil para hacer una entrega en una casa en el vecindario de Hickory Hill. Se dio cuenta de que estaba en la dirección equivocada, así que regresó a su automóvil. Luego dijo que lo robaron a punta de pistola.

“Ni siquiera encendí el carro, cuando me ponen el arma en la cabeza y me dicen:” No te muevas. No digas nada “. Me dicen :” Dame las llaves, tu teléfono y tu billetera. Me llevaré tu auto “, dijo McDaniel.

“Todo en lo que podía pensar era en mi hija de 5 años. Soy un padre soltero. Soy todo lo que tiene aparte de mi madre y mi abuela. Ella es todo lo que pensaba “, dijo McDaniel.

Dijo que se fueron en su vehículo Honda negro y que había un segundo automóvil que lo siguió, pero luego corrió a la estación de servicio más cercana para llamar a la policía.

“Si tengo que volver a hacer entregas en esa área, tendré que mirar por encima del hombro el doble. No sé si alguna vez trabajaré en esa área o trabajaré como conductor de Uber eats, porque mi hija significa más para mí que cualquier otra cosa”.

McDaniel dijo que después de llamar a la policía, tuvo que caminar diez millas para llegar a la casa de su madre.

“Intentar quitarle la vida a alguien o quitarle algo a alguien está mal. Quiero decir que luché por este país. Amo este país, pero por la forma en que se ha convertido y esta ciudad, tenemos que intentar reconstruir esta ciudad y no mantenerla donde está”.

La policía dijo que no podían encontrar el automóvil, pero utilizaron la aplicación de buscar mi iPhone para rastrear el teléfono en un quiosco de cajero automático, pero no estaba allí cuando llegaron.

MEMPHIS, TN (FOX 13)— Memphis Police are asking for the public’s help finding two men they say robbed a delivery driver and stole his car.

That driver told FOX13 he’s lucky to be alive.

Ryan McDaniel was out making delivers for Uber Eats when he got out of his car to make a delivery at a home in Hickory Hill. He noticed he was at the wrong address so, he got back in his car. Then he said he was robbed at gunpoint.

“I don’t even make it to turn the key, when he puts the gun to my head right here and tells me, ‘Don’t move. Don’t say anything.’ He says, ‘Give me your keys, your phone and your wallet. I’m taking your car,’” McDaniel told FOX13.

McDaniel said they took everything. When he turned to see the  people in his back seat he said they pistol whipped him and forced him out of the car.

“All that I could think about was my 5-year-old. I’m a single dad. I’m all she got other than my mom and my grandmother. She’s all I thought about,” McDaniel said.

He said they drove off in his black Honda and that there was a second car that followed, but he then ran to the nearest gas station to call police.

“If I have to go back to work out in that area, I will have to look over my shoulder twice as much. I don’t know if I’ll ever work in that area or work as an Uber eats driver, because my child means more to me than anything.”

McDaniel said after calling police he had to walk ten miles to get to his mother’s house.

“Trying to take somebody’s livelihood or take something from somebody is wrong. I mean I fought for this country. I love this country, but the way it’s become and this city, we need to try to rebuild this city and not keep it where it’s at.”

Police said they could not find the car, but they used the find my iphone app to track the phone at an ATM kiosk, but it wasn’t there when they got there.
