One person injured in overnight Russian drone attack: Kyiv

Kyiv, Jul 2 (EFE).- Russia launched an overnight drone attack on Kyiv region for the first time in 12 days, wounding a civilian, Ukrainian military authorities reported on Sunday.

“Last night, after a short break, the Russians attacked the region again. The enemy used UAVs, which were shot down by our air defense forces,” the head of the regional military administration, Ruslan Kravchenko, said on his Telegram account, adding that the anti-aircraft alarm lasted about an hour.

None of the drones – thought to be Iran-made Shaheds – hit their target, he added, however, debris caused damage to three private homes.

“Unfortunately, a resident of one of the buildings was injured. The man was wounded in the leg. He was given the necessary medical assistance,” Kravchenko said.

Overnight an anti-aircraft alert was issued in Kyiv and in other regions of the country due to the possibility of Russian attacks with drones or missiles, Ukrinform news outlet reported. EFE
