Cristiano Ronaldo named Manchester United’s player of season

London, Jun 4 (EFE).- Cristiano Ronaldo was named by the fans as Manchester United’s player of the season, the Premier League side announced on Saturday.

This is the fourth time Ronaldo wins the award following the 2003/04, 2006/07 and 2007/08 seasons during his first Manchester United spell.

The Portuguese star, who returned to United last year, scored 24 goals across all competitions, including 18 Premier League goals, which earned him the third spot in the competition’s top scorers list.

The 37-year-old’s best efforts, however, were not enough for Manchester United to finish higher than the sixth spot, which was in danger until the final matchday.

Ronaldo was voted Man of the Match up to 10 times throughout the year and United’s Footballer of the Month a further five times. EFE
