Crosstown Concourse to Host 4th Annual Mardi Gras Celebration

MEMPHIS, TN (LPL/localmemphis.com) — Collares, pastel de reyes, desfile y fiesta se pueden encontrar bajo un mismo techo esta noche para Mardi Gras en Crosstown Concourse.

A partir de las 5 p.m., la organización Crosstown Arts está organizando una celebración anual para el Mardi Gras.

No es Mardi Gras sin una segunda línea. Un flash mob iniciará el desfile durante todo el lugar con Memphis Orleans Street Symphony y DJ Swagg.

Habrá un desfile para personas y perros. Se espera perros con disfraces e incluyen premios para los mejores.

Durante las festividades, los niños también pueden hacer sus propias máscaras de Mardi Gras.

Toda la diversión es gratis y abierta al público.

“Realmente reúne todo lo que queremos celebrar aquí en Concourse, los jóvenes, los mayores, la gente del vecindario, la gente de lejos. Si ha estado esperando una razón para venir aquí porque no está realmente seguro de lo que hay dentro de este edificio. Esta es tu oportunidad ”, dijo Caitlin Hassinger, gerente de marketing de Crosstown Concourse.

Hassinger dijo que se espera que el evento lleve a la gente a redescubrir el vecindario de Crosstown que está creciendo con nuevos negocios. Las festividades tendrán lugar a partir de las 5 p.m. hasta las 7 p.m.

MEMPHIS, TN (localmemphis.com) — Beads, king cake, a parade and a party can all be found under one roof tonight for Mardi Gras at Crosstown Concourse.

Starting at 5 p.m., the Crosstown Arts organization is hosting an annual celebration for Mardi Gras.

It’s not Mardi Gras without a second line. A flash mob will kick off the parade throughout the concourse with Memphis Orleans Street Symphony and DJ Swagg.

There will be a parade for people plus dogs. Dogs dressed in costumes are encouraged and include prizes.

During the festivities, kids can make their own Mardi Gras masks, too.

All the fun is free and open to the public.

“It really brings together everything we want to celebrate here at Concourse, the young the old, people from the neighborhood, people from far away. If you’ve been waiting for a reason to come here because you’re not really sure what’s inside this building. This is your chance,” Crosstown Concourse Marketing Manager Caitlin Hassinger said.

Hassinger said the hope is the event will lead to people re-discovering the Crosstown neighborhood which is growing with new businesses. The festivities will take place from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
