Emery bump continues as Villa win at Spurs

London, Jan 1 (EFE).- Aston Villa’s resurgence under their new Spanish manager Unai Emery continued with an impressive 0-2 victory on Sunday at Tottenham Hotspur.

Goals from Emiliano Buendia and Douglas Luiz gave the Birmingham side a victory their second half performance deserved, after the visitors withheld early pressure from Tottenham.

Like many occasions this season, Antonio Conte’s Spurs struggled to create much in attack against a well-drilled Villa defensive line.

The defeat leaves Tottenham in fifth – out of the Champions League places – two points behind Manchester United in fourth having played one match more than the Red Devils, and with pressure mounting against Conte.

The win is Villa’s three in four games since Emery took charge. EFE
