Cuatro escuelas del Condado Shelby son vandalizadas

Four Shelby County schools Are Vandalized

MEMPHIS, TN (localmemphis.com) — Memphis Police and Shelby County Schools continues to investigate four cases of vandalism at area schools. The schools include Whitehaven High School, Ridgeway High School, White Station High School and Overton High School.

“Yall, not safe,” one message read. School officials told Local 24 the message spray painted at White Station High School appeared to be the work of “four young people.”

Parents tell Local 24 they want to know if the acts of vandalism are school pranks, gang related or a serious threat to student safety.

“We looked at it this morning and both shook our heads and thought it was a shame,” said Toya Kimble.

Kimble’s daughter is a senior at Overton High School where vulgar spray- painted remarks remain.

“I think it just shows a disregard not only for the school but the community and the neighborhood as well,” she said.

“Please know that all of our students are SAFE. Authorities are still investigating the reports, but there have been no incidents connected to the vandalism today in any of our schools,” the district said.

Despite the district’s statement parents are still concerned.

“You have to look at everything little thing, you can’t take anything lightly,” said White Station parent Anthony Gentry.
