Paris exhibition deconstructs the creative genius of Gaudí

Paris, Apr 8 (EFE).- Culture vultures in France are in for a treat with the Musée d-Orsay’s exhibition devoted to Art Nouveau stalwart and Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi.

Viewers will be plunged into the architect’s innovative techniques, projects and will even get to discover his studio at the first major show in Paris dedicated to Gaudi in 50 years.

Furniture, sketches, drawings and models that will be displayed in France for the first time will unveil how the artist worked and give insight into the creation of some of his major works.

Gaudi managed to interpret his era with “striking images,” organizers of the exhibition said.

“He has a very particular art. In general you don’t confuse a Gaudi building with one built by another contemporary architect,” curator of the exhibition, Elise Dubreuil, added.

Standouts of Gaudi’s impressive catalog include Barcelona’s Parque Güell, Casa Milà and the Sagrada Familia, a monumental and cutting edge cathedral that is still under construction.

This exhibition “shows all his personality as a creator, architect and artist,” general curator of heritage of the Île de France region, Isabelle Morin, said at the exhibition’s presentation.

The exhibition will run from April 12 to July 17 in Paris. EFE
